  • Day 1

     

    Arrival at the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. Foreign-language tour guide will wait guests with a sign at International Flight Arrival Exit.
    Transfer from the Airport and accommodating at a Belgrade hotel.
    Belgrade city bus tour later in the day: Gardoš – the major historical landmark of Zemun Municipality, with its preserved old architecture, narrow and cobblestoned streets and residential houses, The tower of Janos Hunyadi from 19th century or the Millennium tower (built to celebrate a thousand years of Hungarian settlement in the Pannonia) and the Orthodox Church of St. Nicolas (1745) – the oldest church in Belgrade; Drive through the new financial center of Belgrade – Novi Beograd (New Belgrade): The Palace of Serbia «SIV» (the largest building in Serbia by area covered) and the hall of sport Belgrade Arena (the largest indoor stadium in Europe); Drive through the prestigious residential and diplomatic urban neighborhood of Dedinje, where is situated the official residence of the Karađorđević royal family, The Royal Palace and White Palace, The Museum of Yugoslav History and The House of Flowers, the mausoleum of the late Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito; St. Sava’s Temple, St. Mark’s Church, the historical sights of city center: Trg Republike (The Republic Square), pedestrian and shopping zone Knez Mihailova (Prince Michael Street), Kalemegdan Fortress.
    Return to the hotel, free time and overnight stay.

    Day 2

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Early morning excursion to National Park Fruška Gora, also referred as “Serbian Athos” and “The Holly Mountain”, because of 17 Orthodox monasteries from the late 15th and 16th centuries that are situated on its territory.
    Visit to Sremski Karlovci – Serbian cultural center in 18th and 19th century: city tour, wine tasting of international wine varieties and local brands with appetizers at the local cellars.
    Visit to Petrovaradin Fortress, knows as “The Gibraltar of the Danube”.
    Sightseeing of the historical attractions of Novi Sad.
    Return to Belgrade.
    Overnight stay.

    Day 3

    Trip to the Zlatibor Mt.
    On the way to Zlatibor Mt, short trip to Topola for an excursion to the national memorial park on the hill Oplenac, visiting the Church of St. GeorgeChurch of St. George, OplenacThe church is built in 1930 in Serbian-Byzantine style. Its interior decoration is made as a glass cube mosaic that represents copies of 700 compositions of the most beautiful frescoes from over 60 Serbian monasteries. The Church of St. George is a crypt church of Karageorgevic dynasty..
    Visit to the Monastery of BlagoveštenjeMonastery of Blagoveštenje, Ovcar-Kablar GorgeThe monastery is one of the oldest remaining monasteries of the Gorge, originally built in the medieval period of the Nemanjic dynasty. (The Annunciation) in the Ovcar-Kablar Gorge, with its hot springs of healing water.
    Tasting of Serbian smoked meat (prosciutto. sujuk, kulen, pancetta) in Mushvete Village at Zlatibor Mt.
    Hotel accommodation at Zlatibor Mt.
    Free time and overnight stay.

    Day 4

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Visit to Nature Park Šargan-Mokra Gora and a ride by Šargan’s Eight Train down the narrow-gauge heritage railway of 15,5 km formed in the figure 8, passing 22 tunnels over five bridges and with the altitude difference of 300 meters.
    Trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina: visit to Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge from 16th century (UNESCO World Heritage), the historic bridge in Višegrad widely known from book “The Bridge on the Drina”, the best known novel of Serbian writer and winner of the Nobel prize – Ivo Andrić, with a visit to Andrićgrad Town, built after the famous novelist by the famous Serbian film director Emir Kusturica.
    Optional
    Lunch at one of the national restaurants in Andrićgrad Town (payment on the spot).
    Excursion to the village of Drvengrad (Woodtown) on the hill Mećavnik (traditionally reconstructed village, built as a tourist complex by Emir Kusturica).
    Free Time.
    Return to the hotel and overnight stay at Zlatibor Mt.

    Day 5

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    After breakfast visit to the Church of St. AchilliusChurch of St. Achillius, AriljeChurch of St. Achillius was originally the seat of the Bishop of Moravica, one of twelve eparchies established by Archbishop Sava in 1219. in Arilje, South-Eastern Serbia.
    Trip to the town of Aleksandrovac, the center of one of the Serbian most important wine region Župa of Aleksandrovac.
    Lunch with wine tasting of local wine varieties at one of the local wine cellars.
    Hotel accommodation and overnight stay at health resort Vrnjačka Banja.

    Day 6

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    After breakfast trip to East Serbia for the visit of Roman palace Romuliana (UNESCO World Heritage) and The National Museum in Zaječar.
    Hotel accommodation in Negotin and free time.
    Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.

    Day 7

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    After breakfast tour through the Danube Gorge and Iron GateIron Gate, Danube GorgeThe gorge’ s major attraction is the Great Kazan (kazan meaning “vat”): the Danube here narrows to 150 m and reaches a depth of up to 90 m. with short breaks for landscape photography.
    Visit to the Mesolithic archaeological site Lepenski vir (Lepen Whirl) and the medieval fortress Golubac.
    Return to Belgrade.
    Hotel accommodation in Belgrade.
    Free time and overnight stay.

    Day 8

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Transfer from the Belgrade hotel to the Nikola Tesla Airport.
    Note
    Possible changes in the program for the 1st and 9th day of the tour regarding flight arrival and departure.
