  • In addition to great natural beauty, Serbia has a rich and authentic cultural Inheritance from the Prehistorical, Roman, Byzantine, Medieval and the Modern times.
    This particular Tour will give visitors insight to the selected highlights of medieval religious architecture, natural landmarks, colorful and picturesque villages with their local tradition, folklore and cuisine.
    Unique architect styles within the 12th – 15th century monasteries of Old Raška School, Serbo-Byzantine style and Moravska School represent a valuable part of European cultural heritage.

  • Day 1

    Arrival to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
    Hotel accommodation at Belgrade hotel.
    4-hour Belgrade city bus tour.
    Traditionally based diner and degustation of Serbian schnapps ‘rakia’.
    Overnight stay.

    Day 2

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Excursions to national memorial park Oplenac and the royal crypt of Karađerđević dynasty.
    Trip to Zlatibor Mt passing the picturesque Ovčar-Kablar George with short stops for landscape photography.
    Serbian dried and cured meat tasting at mountain village (prosciutto, smoked bakon, kulen etc).
    Accomodation, free time and overnight stay at Zlatibor Mt.

    Day 3

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Visit to monasteries Mileševa (13th century, Serbian best known fresco “White Angel”) and Banja (12th century).
    Visit to the open air museum Old Village Sirogojno covering nearly 5 hectares with the display of traditional wooden buildings in authentic form and elements of ordinary life collected from all over the Zlatibor region from the 19th century and a visit to the unique Knitters Museum dedicated to the traditional clothing of the region, known as ‘Sirogojno style’.

    Day 4

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Visit to the Church of St. Achillius in Arilje, South-Eastern Serbia (the church was originally the seat of the Bishop of Moravica, one of twelve eparchies established by Archbishop Sava in 1219).
    Trip to the town of Aleksandrovac, the center of one of the most important wine-growing regions in Serbia – Župa of Aleksandovac.
    Lunch with wine tasting of local wine varieties at one of the local wine cellars.
    Hotel accommodation and overnight stay at the health resort Vrnjačka Banja.

    Day 5

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Visit to the monasteries in the Valley of the Kings – Žiča (coronation church of 7 Serbian kings and the first Archbishopric of Serbian Orthodox Church), Studenica (12tt century, UNESCO Cultural Heritage) and Sopoćani (13th century, UNESCO Cultural Heritage)
    Traditional based lunch (optional, payment on the spot).
    Overnight stay at Vrnjačka Banja.

    Day 6

     

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Visit to the Moravska School monasteries Ljubostinja (15th century) and Ravanica (14th century).
    Lunch at the national restaurant on the plateau by the waterfall Veliki Buk (optional, payment on the spot).
    Visit to the fortified Manasija Monastery (15th century, UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List).
    Accomodation, dinner, relaxation and overnight stay
    at the 5-star Hotel Izvor Wellness&SPA in Aranđelovac.

    Day 7

    Breakfast at the hotel.
    Departure to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
    On the way to Belgrade, a short trip to Avala Mt, visiting the Monument to the Unknown Hero (World War I memorial) and Avala TV Tower.
